Why QuickSwitch?

⌘ + Tab was built for apps. You work in windows.

macOS switches between applications. QuickSwitch switches between the exact window you're thinking of — searchable, sortable, and one keystroke away.

How to check your Mac
Installation

Up and running in under a minute.

Four steps from download to your first switch. No installer wizard, no configuration files.

  1. 1

    Step 1Download QuickSwitch

Grab the build that matches your Mac's chip — Apple Silicon or Intel.

  2. 2

    Step 2Open the downloaded DMG

Double-click QuickSwitch.dmg in your Downloads folder to mount it.

  3. 3

    Step 3Drag QuickSwitch into Applications

Drop the app icon onto the Applications shortcut inside the installer window.

  4. 4

    Step 4Launch QuickSwitch

Open it from Applications, grant Accessibility access, and press your shortcut to switch.

Opening QuickSwitch for the First Time

Since QuickSwitch is currently distributed outside the Mac App Store, macOS may display an “unidentified developer” warning on first launch.

Option 1 — open it once from Finder:

  1. 1Open Finder.
  2. 2Open Applications.
  3. 3Right-click QuickSwitch.
  4. 4Click Open.
  5. 5Click Open again.

Option 2 — clear it with one command

macOS tags every downloaded file with a quarantine flag, and that flag is what triggers the warning. Removing it in Terminal skips the prompt entirely:

$xattr -d com.apple.quarantine /Applications/QuickSwitch.app

Option 3 — go to System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway. Whichever route you pick, you only need to do it once.

QuickSwitch runs entirely on your Mac. It does not upload, sync, or collect personal data — window titles, favorites, and settings never leave your device.
